Nina Purcell is Director of Regulatory Delivery & Wales at the Food Standards Agency. Prior to her appointment in February 2014 she was Chief Operating Officer with the Animal Health & Veterinary Laboratories Agency (now Animal Plant Health Agency) where she oversaw the restructure of the operational delivery and developed a new animal disease outbreak management model for Great Britain.
Since her appointment Nina has focused on furthering links with key stakeholders from across industry, Welsh Government and Directors of Public Protection. She has overseen the implementation and delivery of a new feed audit system for Wales, the one year review of the mandatory Food Hygiene Rating Scheme and this year further enhancements to FHRS. In August 2015 she took responsibility for Regulatory Delivery Division alongside her role as Senior Responsible Officer for the Regulating our Future Programme which is how the FSA will ensure that businesses meet their responsibilities to produce food that is safe and what it says it is.
