Dee holds an MA in Social Anthropology with Sustainable Development from the University of Edinburgh. She undertook her dissertation research in economic anthropology exploring food waste and the anthropology of garbage.
Dee set up and co-managed The Edinburgh Hermitage Vegetable Gardens, a community garden in Edinburgh, where she worked as the Horticulture Co-ordinator for three years. As part of the project she designed and delivered ‘The Garden Grub Kitchen’ – an outdoor cooking and food mapping project.
Dee is a founding member of The New Leaf Co-op, a whole food store and workers co-operative in Edinburgh which opened its doors in 2012.
