The Sustainable Food Trust is looking for a new policy volunteer. The position will work with the Head of Policy, in addition to the wider SFT team, to assist in researching key policy issues such as wildlife, pesticides, nutrition, ecosystems, climate change and trade. Key tasks will involve writing policy memos, contributing to articles, researching for longer policy reports and tracking references. Other tasks will include monitoring political developments in Westminster, Brussels and Washington.
We are looking for someone with a good grip on public policy and a keen interest in food and farming issues. Academic experience in either (or both) aspects would be essential. Successful candidates would have a strong background in research and in written English, with an ability to synthesise information efficiently.
This role offers a range of opportunities for someone looking to gain experience working within a policy environment and get experience and knowledge by researching and writing about complex land-use and environmental issues and producing briefings which help support the SFT campaigns and policy work.
We are looking for a commitment of 2 days a week: one full day in the office in Bristol, with the option of working remotely on the other day. This is a 3month position. Fewer hours/flexibility will be considered. You will not need your own transport for this role.
We will reimburse your expenses and will cover travel and lunch.
Please send your CV and cover-letter to Honor May Eldridge (email@example.com) before Feb 28th. Interviews will be held in the beginning of March.Apply now
