This week, Patrick is joined by Josiah Meldrum, co-founder of East-Anglia based Hodmedods
Hodmedods are known for their UK grown grains and pulses, but are also pioneers of food resilience, advocates of a return to long-forgotten crops and initiators of innovation in kitchens across the country. Josiah explains the need to create new narratives around food, and explores the issues of using carbon as a measure of sustainability in farming.
“We have a real issue here in the UK about importing animal feed - particularly from America - but from wherever we import it, it has a huge impact; a huge feed-footprint, and it would be great if domestic pulse production could replace some of those imports.”
