The Wales Real Food and Farming Conference, which was founded in 2019, explores sustainable food and farming in the context of the whole food system in Wales. It brings together farmers, growers, fishers, food businesses, nature conservationists and people involved in public health, culture, rural heritage and skills.
It aims to open conversations between those interested and involved in the future of food in the country, mapping out what a sustainable 21st century food system for Wales might look like and how we might begin to build it.
This year, the WRFFC will meet in person at at University of Wales Trinity St David in Lampeter on 23-25 November 2022. On Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24 November there will be a programme of sessions and activities on the campus. On Friday 25 November there will be visits to local projects.
Find the Sustainable Food Trust team on 23 November for ‘Feeding Wales from the ground up’ from 1:45 – 2:45pm, and for ‘Tomorrow’s Welsh food culture’ from 4:30pm.
On 24 November, the team will discuss ‘Systems thinking in education and government’ from 11:30am, and ‘How sustainability assessments help farmers, advisers and government drive policy and practice’ from 4:30pm.
There will also be a tour of SFT CEO Patrick Hoden’s farm, Bwlchwernen Fawr, on 25 November at 10am.
