A third of the world’s food is wasted. That’s a third of all agricultural land being cultivated for no good reason. Not because it’s inedible – but due to cosmetic standards, poor planning, over buying and legislation.

Tristram Stuart, author and food waste campaigner, delves into the shocking data of the food waste scandal and the far-reaching impacts of land use change, making the case for tackling the problem of food waste upstream. Tristram argues that True Cost Accounting has the power to connect people to the impacts of our food choices, allowing us to put a value on the costs and benefits of different methods of food production, and helping us to remember that some things are in fact invaluable – forest, species, planet.
